I totally understand House Dems being furious about this.
Even if there were good reasons to vote for cloture (and I’m certainly not convinced), the way Schumer handled it was absolute political malpractice.
He ought to be replaced as minority leader.

Oh hell, yeah. Chuck is terrible at this and has been for a long time. I have begun to suspect Pelosi was propping him up and now he is at a total loss on how to accomplish anything.

It's just Democrats trashing Democrats. Republicans use that to say Democrats are leaderless and aren't fit to lead. At some point we'll embrace the fact that we let our Hitler outwit us to take over the world. He did it by dividing Democrats. Peeled off enough of them to do it.

…which is
exactly what Schumer just did. Thus Trump’s glee.
If our leaders aren’t leading, we ought to find others that will.

Nah. Not at all. Where did that come from?
He didn't explain what his strategy was to Democrats. He held onto his cards for some reason. Could be a good reason, but he probably should have expressed that or something to that effect.
He gets to choose what gets filibustered or not. That's basically his entire power on behalf of his caucus. A group of Democrats thought it best to not allow Democrats to be blamed for shutting down the government, against a large number of Democrats that were ok with that option being on the table.
People are just frustrated and feeling powerless for good reason.

I would just point out that when we need unity, he handled this in the most divisive way possible. Unnecessarily.
If we want unity, we need competent leaders. This was a fustercluck.
