DJI drones: fast and smart
#1
We bought a DJI Mini 2 SE at Christmas and we took a few flights around the neighborhood and around the park. yesterday I pushed the limits of what I did before and flew it about 700 meters away from our house to look at the park and I could have gone even farther but I do not have enough experience and confidence for something like that yet.

Someone has a DJI Neo Combo Drone for sale on the other side of the forum and I was curious about that model. I looked on YouTube and I found videos like this where you can fly it at up to 60 KM/H in normal weather and even 70 KM/H with some tail winds. You need a headset for that, otherwise with just remote controller you are limited to lower speeds.

nevertheless, looking at what these drones can do, various type of shots, or they just follow you as you jog, (track you), it's quite impressive what computer vision can do in these $200-300 drones

This is video about speed

And this one is a mini review that shows what it can do

I am not affiliated with any of these YouTubers BTW.

The Neo is unique to the dji line in that it doesn't need a controller at all for some basic flying.

It does some pre-programmed flight modes that can be selected right on the Neo.

Otherwise one can use a phone, or buy an controller.
