Why can't they make things simple?!!!

I'm on a work laptop and I can't figure out how to keep it from making me login everytime the display sleeps.

Can anyone help me (at least figure this out, I know I'm beyond help in many other ways)?!

right click on desktop

goto screensaver

there is a box with a tick mark (require password upon returning from screensaver or something like that)

untick the box

Go to the Start menu, look under control panels & it's somewhere in the display (monitor?) control panel - maybe under screen saver. As I recall, it's something that needs to be unchecked.

Just be glad you don't have to deal with Windows Vista yet.

Apparently you can't buy new computers these days with XP, so all of our recent hires
have been getting Vista on their machines .... it hasn't been pretty.

Are you kidding? Windows XP makes this one FAR SIMPLER than Crapple does on Macintosh.

That you haven't learned it, doesn't mean it's not simple.

Do you always attack things you don't know like this? Or do you just go and learn it and go on with your life?

That is why you try and partner, or contract, with whomever your supplier is and see if they offer an image service of some type - where you supply them with an image of a Windows XP configuration and any machine you purchase from them, they will image it for you before it goes out the door.

Or, you can contract with them to keep supplying you with XP on all orders, instead of Vista. I do it both ways.

You can buy business laptops and desktops with XP. Many companies can't migrate to vista yet as propriety software isn't always compatible with it.
