I need a decent pocket knife for very general purposes. Nothing too big or with anything other than a sharp blade.
I've heard lone wolf knives are good.

Honestly, I would look for one of the 4 bladed Swiss Army knives. The 4 bladed ones are pretty thin. They are usually in the $15 range if you get a good deal. Usually a big blade, a small blade, a can opener with a tiny slotted screwdriver tip and a bottle opener blade with a big slotted tip and a wire stripper at its base. Only Victronox and Wenger are real Swiss Army knives BTW.
I have a swiss army knife that is over 20 years old, and it is still in decent shape. A family friend brought it back from Switzerland (he is swiss) and I carry it most every day. Decent stainless steel blade, easy to sharpen, and it stays sharp. Stainless is a good idea if you carry it in a pocket because sweat can get into it.

I love Spiderco knives. They are almost always a simple, sharp locking blade that is very easy to open and close with one hand.
http://www.spiderco.com/ The Delica model has a nice shape and feel. The combination straight and serrated blade is a good multipurpose style. It is a useful blade without being too large or too small.

Spiderco knives are also very thin FWIW.

MicroLeatherMan
Buy something that is actually useful! This is for picture reference only, the price is way too high, I purchased the two I own at Target for $19.95 each when they had a sale last summer. 2.5" long, and fits on your keychain. http://www.midwesttactical.com/product.asp?itemid=305&catid=115 BGnR

I've been carrying a Schrade 108OT since Junior High... that was when carrying a pocket knife was just discouraged, rather than called a felony...
My first one had 20 years of use by my father on it before I got it. It lasted until about 15 years ago... now it's in a drawer. My "new" one has about 15 years use on it, and still going quite strong. I also have a leatherman super-tool and mini-leatherman that I use almost every day... The right tool for the right job. http://www.outdoor-knives.com/91jupokn3bld.html (I don't know this vendor, they're just the first in a google search) ![]()

I usually carry a Columbia River Viele Wasp - http://216.71.158.68/webcat/CRKTWasp.shtml and/or a Columbia River Tighe Tac - http://216.71.158.68/webcat/cr324asdas5.shtml Both are excellent knives and have locking blades which is very important for safety, especially in knife fights. |
