Some Rebate Reports (from me)

Hi,

Just thought I'd report a small flood of rebate checks I received today, and checked on 3 or 4 others to give faith to the waiting and proof to the leery that they will eventually arrive.

Staples "Easy Rebate" online $40.00 for Maxtor 200gb HD ($35AR) , took 5 weeks to receive check.

Seagate (200gb HD) mail in $10.00, took 5-1/2 weeks to receive check.

Seagate (200gb HD) mail in $40.00, took 5-1/2 weeks to receive check. (same HD as above)

CompUSA $60.00 on same Seagate ($30AR) as above, not so good here, Did the online "ebate" on 2/19, today it says: "Your rebates were requested on 03/14/06 totaling $60.00. Rebate checks will be mailed within 10 - 12 weeks of a properly completed request." Need to keep my eye on this one.

Syntax Olevia $300. (LT32HVE 32" LCD from RadioShack.com just before X-mas) is "Approved and Check In Processing" Glad to see this as I sweat over the over $100+ rebates.

Best Buy / SanDisk SD card $15.00 called on this one since it was mailed on 1/7/06 and couldn't track it online, "one week until checks are mailed" I was told.

All in all not too bad, I will still do rebates when they are lucrative enough and no (at least close) non-rebate deal is available.

If you want 200gb HD's for $30-40 you gotta fill in some rebate forms!

thanks. . .hope you have better results with the Olevia rebate. . .mine took almost a year. . .I almost gave up and then it arrived.


Seems people have problems with Olevia rebates (though some don't have any problems). I will NEVER do a rebate with them again. I feel lucky to have even gotten it.

I got two rebates on the same day this week, one from Seagate and one from Netgear. The Netgear rebate took 2 months, the Seagate maybe 6 weeks.

I just recently got the one from Radio Shack for the Presidian DVD recorder-- $50-- that took several weeks (maybe 10?) but I did finally get it.

drives a Dodge minivan...chases after rebates....spends his time here and uses kidslang.....

....and yet, drives 2 new cars per day and has driven "thousands" of them as part of his career, among other accomplishments.

My post indicates I DON'T chase rebates. I just submit them but do not follow up on them.

I have two cars, I don't drive two cars everyday.

I have driven many, again, because I worked at a dealership.
