Which phone should we choose. Verizon at Costco

Family has 3 phones now on the Family plan. Share 500 minutes, and most of the time stay below it. Currently hasve 3 of the Motorola V710 which were hackable to use BLuetooth to sync, and copy my own ringtones.

I am looking for a phone that would allow some of the same options. If I get a crippled phone from Verizon, I at least want to be able to hook a cable up, and hack it, to allow some of its full potential.

Any recommendations?

"Sasmsun U540"

Is this like one of the Roluxs you can buy in Times Square? Or an iPud from some stall in a Mexico City outdoor market?

Ugh. Hobson's choice.
"Hobson's choice is often misused not to mean a false illusion of choice, but simply a choice between two undesirable options. The difference between this and the original meaning of Hobson's choice is subtle, so confusion is perhaps understandable. For example, if the horse in the stall nearest the door is in poor shape, the traditional usage of Hobson's choice becomes the more common use, since having an unhealthy horse and having no horse at all are both undesirable. A choice between two options of nearly equal value is more properly called a dilemma."

my personal experience is that LG makes a good product and Moto is inconsistent.

Newest Chocolate seems pretty cool from what I've read over on Macrumors iphone forums.

Of course I switched from VZW to AT&T recently Wink, but I do miss the coverage...
