Time to take out the Trash
#1
I haven't emptied the trash on my primary machine since last November. It was over 33,000 items and 44GB.

I started a "Secure Empty Trash" at 10:02 AM. Five hours, 31 minutes in and it is about 2/3rds the way done.

my trash always looks like that

i find it easy to just "command + delete" things away

not sure why you need to do a "secure empty trash" though?

I do hate to use the term "stupid" but sometimes it just fits . . .

Nothing else seems to fit.

Hopefully you are one who learns from his mistakes . . . , non?

I use my trash to put stuff I don't really want on my desktop in.

It can get quite big, especially after long periods of time.

Why?
I have never understood this Mac behavior, believe me, folks have been doing this before you were born MC13.
So, the stuff you don't want on your desk at home, you just chuck it in the trash?

Not physically on my desk. But I do move it to someplace where I probably won't see it.

As far as my desktop, I like keeping my mac Squeeky-Clean.

My stuff on my desktop never surpasses one row, and I keep all of my stuff pretty organized.

Not if it's ALL in the TRASH . . . That is NOT organization, I repeat, it is STUPIDITY.

What part on emptying the trash don't you understand. It's like a clogged artery . . . give yourself time, I guess . . .

Excuse me? To which "mistake" are you referring? What's the point of emptying the trash if you still have huge amounts of free space (> 25%)? The files in the Trash aren't hurting anyone.
