I don't remember, but I believe the power level should be -3 dB or higher.

The Motorola SB4200 is DOCSIS 1.1 (I did a net search for the modem). I just upgraded from a Toshiba DOCSIS 1.1 for a D-Link DOCSIS 2.0. The tech guy at Cox said the DOCSIS 2.0 would improve the performance over the DOCSIS 1.1.

Do you notice an improvement?

From some very brief things I read, it seemed like Comcast was ditching DOCSIS 2.0 for 3.0.

Oops, I'm measuring on my laptop via 802g and forgot that iTunes radio is streaming on the main machine (and for all I know housemate is sucking bandwidth too).

I have an even older 4100, and get almost 4 megs/second. it isn't your modem being old.

Poor quality wiring to and in the house can play a big part.
