The Motorola SB4200 is DOCSIS 1.1 (I did a net search for the modem). I just upgraded from a Toshiba DOCSIS 1.1 for a D-Link DOCSIS 2.0. The tech guy at Cox said the DOCSIS 2.0 would improve the performance over the DOCSIS 1.1.

Do you notice an improvement?
From some very brief things I read, it seemed like Comcast was ditching DOCSIS 2.0 for 3.0.

I have an even older 4100, and get almost 4 megs/second. it isn't your modem being old. Poor quality wiring to and in the house can play a big part. |
