New laptop arrived!!!
#1
We bought a very gently used iBook off eBay. It still has 9 months of warranty left. My daughter paid $800 for it and it included a case, iSight camera still in box, and extra battery. The guy included the shipping as well. It looks like brand new. He did a fresh install of Tiger before sending and we got everything in the original boxes with the receipt included. It is really awesome, and she was so thrilled to get what she felt like was a really great deal.

I can't even imagine what the MacBooks must be like because this is a really awesome little machine! It's running updates right now.

The cool thing is; we turned it on and, from our house, it picked up the signal from our new wireless router (which we didn't think would go to our house because the outer walls of our school room are metal). So, it's sitting inside, connected to the net via satellite, automatically updating.

I know all you longtime Mac users probably can't understand how thrilled we are over the simple things, but GOSH WE LOVE MACS!!!

You should get Apple Care since it is still under the original warranty. Apple Care is a good deal for laptops. On my G3 iBook it paid for a new hard drive and battery, and on my iBook G4 so far, a new keyboard. The free phone support also comes in handy occasionally.

Yeah, we are thinking of that. How do you go about getting it? How long do you have to add it? Isn't it possible to add it up until the first warranty runs out?

Try to pick one up on eBay. You can save $100 or more.
Just do a search...
