Best Monday EVER!!!!
#1
I think today is the best Monday I've had in a very long time.

I didn't have to wake up at any specific time & I realized I'm no longer employed in an unhappy place.

Better yet, I have 2 weeks off & start my new position on the day after Columbus day.

& these two weeks are paid. Smile

I haven't felt this good about work in YEARS!

(PS - for those who remember my thread asking for advice - I finally decided to bring nothing - I just took my immediate team out to lunch)

Very nice. I bet that meant a lot more to them than a token of some sort. I hope y'all got the chance to share some good memories.

This is the best Monday in Houston in a long time... 65 degrees this morning, heading to a high in the mid 80s. Low humidity. WooHOO!

LOL not trying to make anyone jealous - I feel like I've been to hell & back & this "vacation" is the best thing to happen to me in a looooong time.

congrats!

I just had a talk with my office manager - my last day here is Friday the 13th. I'm going for a new venture. The hard part is I like my job, and the people I work with, which made it harder to tell them I'm leaving.

The good part is my new 'boss' is a close friend, and I get a MacBook Pro as my work 'puter.

(Does SmallDog ever send out updates for open box deals? I missed out on a killer 2.0 price!)

PS: anyone in eastern PA want a low-stress Mac tech support job? gotta know some PC stuff, too.

CONGRATS on the new gig. I had a bad feeling about the last one after reading a few comments you had posted over the last several months. I thought, "Poor woman, in a job she probably hates."

Glad to hear you recognized that and moved on! Life is too short to hate your job! Wink

you couldn't have been more correct, SteveO. If I weren't too afraid to go into details I would.

It was an extremely bad situation. The majority of people at that place of business are looking for other jobs (that should tell you something!).

It was just sooooo unbelievable. Really.

The one thing I hope for at this new position is that I won't feel like I have to grovel for time off.

And, the only thing I'm truly thankful for from this last position is that it gave me a chance to build up my annual leave. I have plenty now. Smile

I did give up a lot to go to this new position, though. I'm trading in a large office with skylight & view to a lovely courtyard for a small open "cubicle" type area in a windowless room (shared with 3 other people). Hey, if it's less stress...I'll be happy.
