I'm currently in a class in Portland studying SuSE Linux Administration. Part of the course materials included the latest versions of SuSE Linux. I just installed SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 on my laptop and I'm blown away. The Broadcom wireless card still doesn't work in Linux, but the Netgear PCMCIA card that I installed worked automatically when I inserted it. I'm not too upset about the Broadcom card. They are notorious for not working well with Linux. Further the OS spouted off the names of the available wireless networks in range, and connected me to the strongest open network with 1 single click. Updates are no brainers. I'm very impressed to say the least. They have officially left Windows in the dust and are closing in on OS X. What I find really interesting is that this is easier to install and easier to use than Vista. If I were a net-admin contemplating what to do about Vista I'd take a very close look at SuSE 10. It would be less of a shock to users switching from XP to SuSE 10 than from XP to Vista. It would require a similar amount of training, and it would cost much less to implement.
