Just read this in the conclusion (from papercup's link):
"So we've established that the D80 is a great 'photographers camera', but how good are the images? The answer is, really very good, Nikon appear to have shaken off the soft-image demons of the past and are also using a slightly stronger (more consumer friendly) default sharpening level than the D200."

I've heard great things about the D80. It's been said to be a good backup body for those using the D200, but I disagree simply because it uses SD cards.
I wonder why Nikon made that decision?
I you DON'T have a million CF cards (like I do), it's probably an excellent way to jump on board the Nikon train.

It's not so bad. Keep your current cam as a backup with your CF cards and take advantage of SD's super low prices. The D80 is a "nice" camera. You'd love it.

Actually, I shoot with the D200, so I'm already a happy camper.
These digital cameras will only get better and cheaper as time goes on.

I just got another SD card. A 2 gig 150x Ridata SD card costs $36 delivered. That's not expensive at all (like the cost of a decent dinner).
Going to hit bestbuy today with my 80-200...
