I used it once because of a promotion where I think I saved $10. It worked fine for me.

Buy.com is having a promo throughout October where if you use Google checkout you will save $10 off your order if it is $30 or more. The good thing is that you can save the $10 more than once. Just use Google everytime you checkout during the promo period and you get the $10 off each time.

I've used it with buy.com. EZ, no sweat and you save $10 off $30. What's not to like?
btw-If you pay sales tax on buy orders, the tax will be calculated before the $10 discount. Keep that in mind when doing price comparisons.

I used it at Starbucks an hour ago (from a thread on fatwallet), and got $20 off $30 using google checkout. It was slick.
