A hardline approach can be given out more severely by parents than it can by the police. (At least legally, anyway.)

Anyway, I too am glad they didn't shoot the kid. It is surprising though. Perhaps there's some good cops left.

If Baby Buzz ever did that, the present would be donated to an underprivileged kid, or an agency that helps them, by Baby Buzz himself. If a present is given out of love and respect, at least the respect should be reciprocated... if it isn't; no present, and giving it to a home where it is appreciated should aid in learning that lesson.

Both

[quote AlphaDog]...I'm sure there's much more to this story (starting with the fact the mother of a 12 year old is only 27 herself!)...
and

seem to hit the real problem on the head. Those numbers were the first items from the story to set off alarm bells. When you have multiple generations of children raised by children there is no wonder that no matter how loving the parent may be, they can and probably are woefully ill equipped to handle the potential hardships in raising a child. This whole saga just seems laughably sad.

Our favorite bartender is 29, and she has an 11 year old daughter. Her mom is about 50, and great grandma is under 70.

And I know our bartender's ex, and he just beat a domestic vioilence and burglury arrest on a technicality.

[quote Lux Interior]I think some here would have been quite happy to see the thief wasted by the cops.

It's great that Foxnews doesn't let these important stories slip by unnoticed.

I did the same thing once as a kid. Unwrapped the remote control car my grandma had got me when no one was home, put batteries in it and even played with it before rewrapping it and putting it back on the top shelf of the closet.

Was the worst christmas ever. I was scared stiff that when I opened it they'd be able to tell by my reaction that I already knew I was getting it. Plus, it was so anti-cimactic. I guess I had a fully developed guilty conscience, because I never peeked at presents again.
