I agree.
But for me that also applies to most music, most of the time. I really enjoy music and tend to dislike the "background" application of it.
There are some times when I have it take a seat *slightly* in the back, but only out of necessity.
Ah, but then that's the whole point of ambient music, innit? Not to be "listened" to, just intended to colour the environment. Hard to grasp just reading about it, till you've stood in a cathedral.
