Good luck. I've seen those questions asked for 20 years.
Okay, gonna do the MBA thing, I think...distance learning...

Heh. I'll bet. I fondly remember my first PivotTable...

[quote Greg the dogsitter]I want to learn how an organization can be set up to maximize the gains that technology can provide. How does one encourage workers to find the fastest route to the goal? How are managers taught to not assume that how things are being done is also the best way?
I'm not sure how getting an MBA is going to help you much, except for maybe a few courses in organizational behavior. It might help you become a manager, and they you can just force changes in your organization. And if you can show other groups in your company that it saves money, you can influence their methods. BTW, I'm currently two-thirds of the way through an MBA program, and I think you'll miss a lot by doing the distance learning. I get a lot from interacting with other people in my classes.

Well, I gave you the short answer. There's more, but this is where my motivation began. I get a lot from interacting with other people in my classes. They do have message boards, and people are free to give out personal contact info. I'm in no position to compare the utility of message boards versus face-to-face.

Whew, at first glance I thought it was Acapella University. You would be singing a different tune if you went there.

GtD-
The face to face is CRUCIAL. If I were you, I'd skip the whole thing rather than miss out on that, especially for this kind of degree. I mean, if you were getting a degree in accounting, or engineering, or Middle English Literature, the FTF isn't as important. But for an MBA, it's a really big deal. I bet you could find a local college that has a decent MBA program, where you could plug in a bunch of IT stuff. What's the nearest city, and how far are you from it? |
