After these years still cannot copy and paste on Firefox.

Bugs the crp out of me but on Firefox 2.00.12 cannot cut and copy text or anything except web address box. Reloaded browser couple times to no avail. Other browsers copy and paste for me but do not like at all and cannot get satisfactory transfer of bookmarks and particularly bookmark toolbar.

I am running 10.2.8 on G3 iBook dual USB. Posted this seems like two years ago and someone else had problem too and could not solve. Drives me nuts when I am trying to prove the earth is flat to you in my arguments and cannot quote my sources.

Then you're doing something wrong because I do it all the time.

'mint: Since you mentioned copying text from a web browser, imagine if you were using a full-on (i.e. Cocoa) Macintosh browser such as Safari or Camino, that knew what OS X Services were all about.

Firefox on my G3 iBook and my G4 desktop, no problems.
Do you have any special system modifiers installed, or accessibility features turned on?

OK, I have a lead for you.
Type:
about:config
into your URL bar.
I'm pretty confident that toggling one of the values here will fix your problem. I scanned all the way through the list, though, and can't figure out which one.
Messing with this stuff could cause other problems if you're reckless, though . . .

So true.

In Safari, I even use drag-and-drop, both within Safari pages and from or to other applications. Very convenient.

Highlight, Drag & Drop: Firefox on my G3 iBook and

Also HD&D: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 {from About FF}

Working fine on Mini C2D 1.83GHz running Leopard.
As others have suggested, something is broken ::o

You can do that with Firefox too.

It does not work for me on my computer in Firefox plain and simple. If I liked another browser and could get a suitable arrangement in bookmarks I would. This is a silly quirk apparently limited to me on Firefox.

The "about: config" in the url shows interesting items but like Black Landlord I cannot figure out which it would be. Any ideas on specific one and how to change?

Sorry, mint-- been through the whole list again, and I don't seen an obvious choice.
One of the "extension" thngies is my best guess. Hope someone smarter than me takes a shot.
At the risk of insulting you, I did some searching and found someone who fixed your problem with a full shutdown-- I imagine you do thise frequently?

Could also be your OS version-- which is it?
