I won a class action settlement......
#1
My current statement for my GM credit card has issued me a credit of $0.08 for the Shea Class Action Settlement.

Class action lawyers should be hanged like Saddam Hussein.

So they got paid all their fees and the leftover is for the "real" plaintiffs.

Our legal system is totally screwed up. These types of class actions have no benefit for those who are really victimized - the only ones who win are trial attys.

A friend got a $2,000 check just before Christmas from a class action. Imagine what the lawyers got!

Do you think GM's cost was only 8ยข? Class action suits benefit you because the potential defendants would rather not be sued.

Bummer. $0.08 is not much when it comes to booze and hookers....

Like they will send out 2.3 million 1099s for 8 cents.

They do not deserve that kind of treatment.

We'll have to think of something much worse.

I was included in a class action settlement against an insurance company. There was an increased payout if I died within five years. Now THAT's a class settlement!

Income's not dependent on a 1099.

It is possible to have real income with no 1099.
(both parties can get screwed in an audit, too.) :-)

Well, if the income is over $600 in a year, they are supposed to send out a 1099 of some sort, and even if they don't, you are supposed to report it on your own. I believe that there is a line somewhere that says something to the effect that "any other income from any other source not previously declared"

I was just being facetious, but we don't have a facetious emoticon. I don't frickin' have any on this Dull at work as a matter of fact.
