Grar! Dell wants their migration kit back after I buy it for $9 and they charge me $31.
#1
So I ordered and received a $9 migration kit. I was a bit surprised to see that Dell charged me $31.43 on 12/26 considering that I made the purchase on the 13th. I called up and they completely refused to acknowledge that they had made a pricing error yet shipped to to me anyway. Unfortunately I can't find any email confirming the original price of the item. Their resolution? Ship it back! I'd really prefer not to but there's no way I'm paying $31.43 for it. They're even sending me a shipping label.

Does anyone else have proof that they ordered the migration kit at $9? Maybe it would help my case. I'd really like to win this one but I'm not sure I have a leg to stand on.

Though my order was cancelled, I 'may' be able to email you my order confirmation, but then again, you probably have one as well.

You have plenty of 'legs' to stand on. They can't back charge you like that. Dispute it with the credit card. Easy win. Dell may then contact you directly (after the charges are reversed by the credit card company) via mail. You may have to defend yourself again, but just explain everything, it'll be an easy win also. I think they just figure that some people aren't gonna fight it.

I have experience with Dell on matters like this...

PM me if you need it,
I got it, but it still shows it as delayed.

My confirmation email says $9.56--received the merch a couple weeks ago, but can't find any evidence of a charge on any credit card (I did see that PayPal posted my $20 credit for a $50 purchase, though).

PM me if you want a screenshot of the conf. email).

Dispute the charge.

I have a confirmation email, though my items never shipped. A friend of mine did actually receive his (and he got order his after I ordered.) I may be able to get a copy of his invoice.

FWIW, I spoke with eight different Dell reps over this. Finally one manager agreed to sell me the surge protector and a 512MB USB drive (they are out of the 1GB drives) for the same price. My friend who ordered after me bought a bunch, and I was able to buy some from him at the same price.
