Such as propping up the iPod displays above it at a Costco in Washington state.

Looks like the Zune is good for something!

Yeah, THAT'S the ticket! So um, where are the Zunes then? Did they take them all off the display that they came shipped and palletted on, then store them in the back just to make room for all the iPods? Come on now, do you think Costco people would go through all that? The Zunes sold.

Come on now, do you think Costco people would go through all that? The Zunes sold. So, are you suggesting that Zunes are so hot that Costco can't keep them in stock and decided to use the stand for the much slower selling iPods? Certainly you can't be suggesting that. I'm sure SOME Zunes sold, but if iPods are moving faster (and there are more than a few reports as such) I'm sure the store manager would place more of his stock of iPods out front on any flat surface available. Why would you hide the item that people want?

Trust me, if an item isn't selling, Costco won't have it out for long. And they sure wouldn't make a floor display either.

From Mac Daily News :
Microsoft Zune juxtaposition that was shot by MacDailyNews reader Larry Fransson on December 29, 2006 at a Costco store in Tukwila, WA (a suburb south of Seattle) Maybe somebody could slide by there and ask Costco "WTF?"

The Zunes sold.
No, I bet they didn't. Some did, but all the Costcos sold out, and there were soooo many iPods that they *needed* to press the Zune display into service? Maybe, if each store got 25 Zunes. Put down the crunch and back away from the pipe. |
