Ill CS2 glitch. Crashes everytime I...
#1
When using the pathfinder tool to merge shapes, I can merge any rectangular shape but not circles. Every time I try and use a circle it crashes.

Any suggestions?

I am using CS2 on a G5 3ghz with 8G of ram.

I always start by trashing prefs, running OnyX & rebooting.

I know you aren't on an Intel Mac but I found this on Adobe U2U:

Question: Crashes with pathfinder

Is this a known bug? When I click on a pathfinder tool with two shapes selected, illustrator crashes. Anyone know how to stop this from happening? It is a known and much discussed problem with Intel Macs.

Answer:
The workaround is to open Illustrator. Close the Appearance palette. Quit Illustrator. Reopen Illustrator. You can now use the Pathfinder without crashing. Remember to close the Appearance palette before quitting Illustrator if you open it again.

PS CS2 has been more unstable since I installed CS3--I don't use Illustrator much, but I'd guess there's some shared stuff.

Intel is Core Duo or Core2 Duo or Xeon - G5 is IBM

Adobe blames Apple for this bug, which started cropping up after the 10.4.8 update. Whoever is to blame, they'd better fix it soon!
