OT: Actual Start time of Daytona 500

my 12 yo is a NASCAR fan and wants to catch at least the last part of the Daytona 500. we're traveling and i'm willing to try to adjust our travel time.

what time does the race actually start? the broadcasts i've found begin at 1:30pm sunday but is that the actual start time of the race or will announcers pontificate about the upcoming race for an hour or so?
