Why don't you sign up for Last.FM so that we can see what you typically listen to, then we can make some better suggestions...or better yet, let Last.FM make some suggestions.

At any rate, I'd start with Greg Brown, The Paperboys, Nora Jones, Erin Mckeown(sp?).

Go to Pandora or Last.FM. Many of the artists can be listened to there. You can create a custom streaming radio station with either service. Pandora will probably go under in a few weeks though, so I'd recommend Last.FM.
