MR forums trolls look stupid, film at 11!

Our local trolls are looking increasingly desperate in their continuing attempts to post threads that essentially say "Apple is in trouble" or "Jobs is in trouble" after report after report show that not to be the case:

I wonder if the trolls will show up in all the threads about Apple's RECORD profits, Apple's RECORD sales, Apple's INCREASE in market share, or acknowledge any of the OTHER good news about Apple?

I also wonder if pigs fly.

The way I see it, what happened at Apple is not the exception but the rule in corporate America. There is too much runaway greed. All is justified by $$$. Corporate greed is not going to disappear by making an example of a few individuals. It just makes the accountants and the lawyers work a little harder.

That said, I think Jobs has done a wonderful job at Apple. But he is by no means a saint. He is not an altruistic figure out to do nothing but good for those who choose to by Apple branded products (we'd like to think so). He is there to make money...for the stockholders and for himself. I don't believe anyone else had the vision to bring Apple back from certain failure.

If Jobs would be found guilty; fine him. But to remove him from Apple's board would be a mistake.

That's right chas. It's more exciting to look at a disaster than to look at something where all is going well.

I won't condone illrgal behavior, but I'm with MacArtist. If he done wrong, make him shell out, but don't put him out.

Jobs at least has led his company and its stockholders to more profit while still producing quality product. Can the boys from Enron or any of those other actual CEO malefactors claim the same?

I'd be hesitant to call anyone who regularly frequents this place a troll. Though I can understand chas_m's reasoning. The forum members to whom chas is probably referring (I can only think of one) seem to on the surface display a strong irrational bias towards Apple. At least that's the perception. I can't believe though they're trolls, whose sole interest here is to torment us (not that chas was necessarily saying that).

That is NOT why Steve Jobs is there. You have REALLY not been paying attention.

The job of making money for the stockholders falls to others, not Jobs. That is not his focus nor his concern. As for "making money for himself," I would remind you of the following:

1. Steve's annual salary is $1.
2. He gets options, but unless you have no idea what options are, you should know that this is not the same as money. Steve has to SPEND money on options in order to MAKE money on options (and there's a significant risk that he won't make ANY money on options).
3. Steve is already very rich from other ventures. If there's one thing he isn't, it's greedy.

Given that Steve IS NOT and WILL NOT be charged with ANYTHING, and all the quoted and linked reports say over and over that HE DID NOTHING WRONG -- how EXACTLY is he going to be FOUND GUILTY??

And people wonder why I'm fed up with this country. It's not a political problem, it's a comprehension problem!

Not me. You're right that there is one person in particular to whom I am referring, and he's a troll. The fact that he occasionally posts something non-trollish doesn't excuse the trollery. Just because Hitler let some Jews live doesn't mean he wasn't a Jew-killer.
