old school photographer goes digital! MBP arrived today

and my Canon 5D should arrive early next week.

Owwwww, my aching bank accounts.

MPB 2.4 15" matte display refurb. I will bump up to 4 gigs of RAM before too long. And Apple tossed in a Not-For-Resale copy of iLife'08, which they don't have to do with a refurb.

EOS 5D is actually pRON's, and soon to be mine. A friend of his is upgrading to the new Mark III, and pRON gets the Mark II, and pRON sells his 5D to me. And as I type this, a co worker just behind me is surfing eBay for old Canon FD film stuff, and I am trying to convince him to get my AE-1P and A-1 kits. The A-1 was serviced before i put it away to take care of the Canon squeal.

But they will be burying me in one of the Buicks. That will never change.....

Is that a 1D Mark II/III or a 1Ds Mark II/III. I'm still booking paid assignments with my original 1D, but for 80% of what I'm doing these days, I'm lusting after a 5D (though I'd still prefer the 1D Mark III based on my occasional sports assignments for which I'd rather have the 1D that a 5D).
