Want HP deskjet D2430. Will it run on v10.2.8?

The specs I have found are not that specific but sound like you need Panther. Upgrading is not an option as this iBook drive is maxed out and when I buy new computer next spring it will probably have Leopard installed.

I found some more specific information about that HP, and it requires a minimum of 10.3.9.

BUT! If you can order online, the Canon site has a nice little iP6310D on sale for 50% off with free ground shipping, making it $49.99, too. Here's a link, but once you get to the page, click first on the "Product Tour", and then choose "More Information" and then "Specifications. It says it will run on 10.2.8 and up.

I have the older iP6000D, and I really like it, although mine takes separate ink cartridges for each color, and it looks like this newer one has a "color cartridge", like the HP.
