Ok, I made turkey soup with T-day leftovers and totally put too much Thyme in. It tastes like thyme soup.
Is my only option to just water it down further with more broth until becomes less potent? Is there some herb that balances the thyme at all to reduce it's domination?
humorous and serious replies welcome..

Try adding shortening to your excessive thyme.

I'd like to go back in thyme, too.
Experimental cooking yields failures.
Basil is real easy to add just a bit too much of , too.
Add venison ?
(it is hunting season here)

You could maybe add more browned onions and other vegetables.
A couple of big chunks (quarter) of potato will absorb salt and some pepper, but I don't know about thyme. It could not hurt.
But yes, you could double your base recipe with some added ingredients, carrots, more turkey
Thymes A'Wastin.

Yeah, adding chunks of potatoes will tend to absorb some of the stronger flavors. I bet you would not notice the thyme so much if you put in a couple tablespoons of crushed red pepper.

Throw in some more stuff that goes really well with thyme--more onions, mushrooms, carrots and celery. Simmer for a while. Things should improve, and you will have turkey vegetable soup, which is not bad at all.
