Would someone tell me exactly what O'bama is going to change??

[quote (vikm)][quote billb]I can't stand her, Minty.
But I've tried to only judge her political career as a NY Senator. ( not necessarily where the can't stand her part comes from totally)
Whether she would have gotten where she is today otherwise is a guess. I think she quite possibly would be. She does have ambition. She's not Bill's puppet.
Actually, that is something I left out of my criticism. It is quite obvious she put up with Bill's fooling around due to political aspirations and the potential for power they could have together. That couldn't be any more plain to see,.

The fact that she was willing to compromise any integrity she had for her place in politics says quite a bit. It's not s stretch to see how that trait would translate to politics with all of the "I'll ignore this if you do this for me" type nonsense that happens so frequently.

C'mon, can anyone here really say they would have just ignored what transpired and turned the page? Does anyone here actually lack that much self respect? Bill couldn't have done many more things to embarrass and humiliate her (and himself) any more than that. To me, it all goes back to that integrity thing and shows a real compromise on her behalf. I don't want that level of indignity in a President.

Give me a break. Or I should say Hillary. I don't think I would vote for her. But, her husband being a cheating bastard, is not a reflection of her character. Nor is her STAYING with him for any reason, especially Political reasons, a reflection of her own character. My guess is Old Bill has put her through the ringer with his womanizing over the years, and she is way over it. He has been a womanizer since day one. Why shouldn't she use him now, to get what she wants?? He sure as hell used her, and he was elected President. I am sure in the beginning, she stayed for Chelsea.

The only one that lacks persoanal integrity in the marriage department is Bill Clinton, and even he is not all bad.

Don't kid yourself, Hillary was running this country right beside Bill, and she ran Arkansas, too. She has experience, and is not ready to quit the game. And why do you think Bill is still around???

I know so many married women who are still with their cheating husbands. They feel they paid their dues, and want the lifestyle, house, kids, etc. Over 60% of marriages involve cheating spouses.

Personally, I would rather not be married, and I would rather not go through this BS. It is all a big lie.

WTF do we really know about Bill and Hillary's relationship?
For all we know they're swingers.

deo, I'm really sorry you feel this way but I can respect the fact you don't mind posting it in a public forum.

It saddens me that any woman would decide to stay with a man (or even the other way around) that has no doubt cheated numerous times throughout a relationship. It says just as much about the woman as it does the man and none of it is good regardless of the reasons or good intentions. It just perpetuates the lack of integrity and self respect and worst of all tells the kids that they are trying to "protect" that it's ok. Although it's really not the main point of this discussion, it really is quite sad.

You really don't expect poitician's lifestyles and value systems to be too much terribly different than say, hollywood actors do you ?

When they're caught toe tapping in bathroom stalls you really do have to wonder what they haven't got caught doing.

But it is ok that everyday folks cheat and stay together, I guess.

Because that is what is happening in most marriages. I don't condone it myself.

I don't believe in marriage, and won't participate in that institution.

decocritter's assessment is spot on. There is so much gray area involved in long-term relationships. You never know what you can learn to live with or forgive.

You can laugh at me, but I think you are all forgetting about one thing: love.

Maybe they love each other. Just because the majority here cannot understand a love that includes forgiveness does not mean that others cannot.

Here's a better question. Why TF should we know or care about Bill and Hillary's relationship? Is it any of our business? If you chose someone to be the head of your company, would you expect to know the intimate details of their marriage?

No, Peter, corporate CEO's have been getting away with bad behavior since time began. But the women that put up with them (for love or whatever reason) are always the ones criticized. It is amazing.

Who knows what all 2 people in a marriage put up with because of all of the complications and entanglements.

If you take the traditional marriage vows, "Til Death Do You Part" and "For Better or For Worse" are supposed to be a part of the deal.

Not "Until some young thing comes along that I just think I deserve and can't turn down because I have become a little bored"
