your stock RAM is worth about $5 as a trade-in I think.
I would hang on to your stock RAM in case you need to send the machine in to Apple for repairs. they love to blame everything on non-Apple RAM.
I just ordered 2 2 giggers for my MBP tonight, and 2 1 gig sticks was worth $20 trade-in.

Hmm, thanks for the info.. I agree, it's probably not worth trading in.
So is this $91.95 a super special price or what? I don't know what it costs normally, but 4GB for under $100 seems like a steal.

just that RAM is really cheap right now. I looked at the speed tests for various machines and RAM configs, and the jump up to 4 gigs in my MBP, even from 2 gigs, was well worth it to me.

My wife was running all manner of apps the other day on the MacBook and was experiencing some serious lag. I checked the Activity Monitor and not only was there almost no free RAM, but the VM size was over 45GB! Insanity. So I'm ordering her the 4GB to max it out once and for all.
I'm just glad we can go to 4GB now (over the 3GB limit previously).
Of course that will mean she has more RAM in her MacBook than I do in my G5 (only 3.5GB ) but that can be remedied, just not as cheaply unfortunately.

really sounds like she needs it. Also may be some sort of VM leak. I reboot maybe once a week on my G4 tower, and about once a day on my MBP.
