Anyone here familiar with them? I received two emails last week from them on behalf of someone who "found" me and wanted to add me as a friend. The odd thing is that it came to my work email address. The first name is an unusual enough name that I paid attention since I do know someone with the name. But the last name doesn't match anyone I know.
Obviously, the goal is to get you to sign up and it's free to do so, but it just seemed odd to get the email at my work address. Stranger yet, that while I just ignored the first two last week, I just received another from the same person.
Is this just another My Space/Facebook/Twitter social networking site?

Registration is free, but you have to be a paying subscriber to view some of the information and do certain kinds of searches. That includes seeing who is searching for you. Their records are provided by others, and through searches on public databases. They started by marketing to class reunion organizers, who often got email and other addresses directly or indirectly from former class members and the same kind of public sources such as the Google archive of usenet postings.

My lovely wife 'signed up' for this 'service' then said she cancelled. They charged her credit card every month for 3 months until I was able to get it really cancelled by threatening them with the Ohio AG.
Don't do it. They also SPAM like crazy. The 'someone has added you to their list' is a straight SPAM come-on.

Thanks, all. That's kind of what I figured. Wonder if I'd be any better off replying with a "no, I don't know this person" or just deleting the email.

I'm wondering if anybody who has a paid membership to Reunion.com can look up somebody's profile and see if she entered a current street address and phone. I'll paypal you $10 if you succeed in getting at least a current street address. If you can do this, email me at elhardt(at)att(dot) net. Replace the at and dot with the appropriate symbols. Just trying to avoid spambots. Thanks.
BTW, I signed up for free a long time ago, but found I couldn't do anything and was spammed to death by them, so I know how they are.
