19" lcd as second monitor/fcp-samsung 933bw-$86/ar-opinions?

i'm looking at the samsung 933bw as a 19" lcd 2nd monitor to use with final cut pro and my macbook pro 2.4.

the price of $86 after rebate is the reason i'm interested.

i'm not looking to color grade using this monitor. i'm simply looking to use the 2nd monitor as the canvas screen in final cut instead of relying on the macbook pro 15".

anyone with any thoughts on the quality of this samsung?

In this age of rebate companies going out of business, it may behoove you to consider the pre-rebate price more seriously.

Seems like a good deal. I just read some reviews on it and nothing bad. I can't find who makes the panel, but samsung makes their own so I'm guessing it's a samsung (they don't always use their own, however.) It's a TN panel which for your purposes is probably better than a nicer panel. It will be closer to what TVs show.

as to the rebate, the samsung is sold thru dell so i imagine i'll have to wait weeks but i doubt if dell or samsung are going out of business.

i also read reviews (newegg had 40+) and mostly decent comments. unfortunately, i didn't notice any comments pertaining to macs and/or use with final cut.

i would welcome someone from this community with some final cut experience adding their voice.
