One of our own is gone
#71
If anyone knows a connection of his, perhaps find out if they, or one of us, could set up a memorial fund, in the event his extended family could use the support, however small. I'd be happy to govern that, or donate.

it's a rather odd feeling to lose someone you only knew in Cyberspace. The concepts of the immediate family and the 'other people you know' are reversed.

There's no gathering at the funeral home for catharsis and closure. A thread just doesn't seem to do it justice.

Goodbye Minty. Thank you for for being you and for sharing that with us. I'm sorry for the pains you've endured, and I hope that the folks here managed to ease some of them.

My condolences to us all.

I hope Minty (Bob) is now at peace. I had PMd him not long ago with a deal at the Apple Store on a Macbook. He was so sweet when he responded, and asked if there was anything he could keep an eye out for, for me. I will miss his humor, his posts about the Sci-Fi Saturday night schlock movies, and even his never-ending search for the perfect replacement for his aging iBook. He was one of the personalities that gave this Forum a soul. I'll miss you Mint, rest in peace.

I always looked forward to his Cubbie updates. Sad to lose him, I was hoping this year of years would have given him hope!

Very, very sad to hear; as others have said, I hope his family is coping well.

If the Cubs make it all the way this year, we'll know why.

Sad news. May he rest in peace. He was obviously going through extreme emotional angst. I never participated in the various threads regarding the inheritance matter but felt connected as a cyberspace observer. I hope he and his sister with whom he was battling were able to put the matter behind them before he passed away.
