First drops of rain here in Biloxi, MS
#1
Just went out to watch the dark black feeder bands coming across overhead and we now have some rainfall.
Its big drops, but not a thick downpour yet.

About to switch over my USB external drive to a firewire case (*to free up a USB port )

might have a short video clip

Are you staying? I am not hearing about what the folks in Miss. should be doing in terms of evacuation. Atlanta cycles the same reports over and over.

Zones A and B were to evacuate. My folks and my sister's family are all here with us.
They were the ones who lost everything in Katrina - so not gonna chance that again.
They evacuated, but just came here to Biloxi.

Its a steady downpour now.. thunder and lightening.

Took two short vid clips on my Flip video thingy that came last week.
figure out how to get em uploaded in a sec

There is a shelter a mile up the road from me if things turn rough here at the house.

Very nasty looking clouds.

I hope this storm loses steam before it hits.

Photos tomorrow - its fairly calm out there right now.

Loaned a neighbor some oil for his generator.
He was soaked- it seems his son's trampoline tried to go airborn when those first feederbands came thru.. wild.. must have some sort of vortex n his back yard.

keep yall posted - and photos in the morning as Gustov sends more wind and rain

“I don’t think the worse has gotten here yet,” Mayor A.J. Holloway said this morning at 10:15, as the city endured wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph and a 10 to 12 feet tidal surge in some areas of the peninsula.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Harrison County until 4 p.m.. The area continues to be under a hurricane warning and flash flood watch. Sporadic power outages also were reported. A citywide curfew remains in effect.
More than a dozen streets, including most of U.S. 90 and Back Bay Boulevard, were impassible because of water.
“We’re getting a lot of rain and gusts,” Holloway said. “People need to stay in until this gets by us, which could be later today.”

Street closings in Biloxi due to flooding
---U.S. 90

---Howard Avenue at Pine
---South River Drive
