McCain to suspend campaigning, wants to delay debate due to financial crisis

To be fair, sometimes when you send an Internet on Friday, one of the series of tubes gets blocked and your staff may not receive said Internet until the following Monday.

Or so I've heard from knowledgeable people.

I thought that only happened to Ted Stevens, because Alaska is so far away. It's easy for the tubes, and even the pipeline, to get clogged.

Wrong. Obama has agreed to debates all along. The people who are hung up on this "Obama won't participate in town hall meetings" need to get over it, it was just something McCain wants to do because he is not going to do well in the debates so he wants a chance to answer folksy questions from hand-picked citizens.

The underdog always wants more debates/town hall meetings. Hillary was constantly asking for more debates with Obama. McCain likes town hall debates because there is no one there to really question him on his answers.

"Yes, Mr. Jones, I think we need to appoint a commission to find out how this economic collapse happened. You, over there in the red flannel shirt, what's your question? I am sure I will have a fine piece of pre-planned rhetoric for you, too."

McCain does not want a prepped and informed person like oooohhh, sayyyy, Charlie Gibson to ask questions during a debate. That's why he likes the town hall format. He doesn't want us all to see him back and fill like Palin had to.

Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski's comment just came over my interweb.

"We need solutions, not John McCain's grandstanding. Congress must take prompt but deliberate action to resolve the credit crisis. John McCain returning to Washington, does nothing to move us forward. Instead, he is putting politics in front of finding a real solution to this issue."

Mikulski (D-Md.) is a proud liberal and backed Hillary Clinton in the primaries.

Perhaps the real problem is that McCain can't think about foreign policy and economic policy during the same week, and the debate was going to blow his cover.

I have even heard that some of these "personal computers" that can connect to the interweb have cameras installed, and you can "video conference" so everyone can see everyone else.

Gutenberg, OMG, you're right! (smacking my forehead) what was I thinking? Who wants some geezer war-vet senior Senator with broken arms who can barely figure out how to use a telegraph, when you can have a cool, hip, young guy who digs iChat conferencing, cool rap music, Blackberries, Twitter, and Facebook? I bet McCain doesn't even have a MySpace page!!! What a loser!!!!! Uh oh, g2g, my history homework is due, my 5th grade teacher is sooooo boring. P.S. did you hear billy kissed rebecca after the basketball game? OMG! I'll txt u l8ter
