How did Couric look when she said," ... not belabor the point."?

I've only read the interview, rather than watching it, but reading that section gives *me* a tension headache, so I only imagine what Katie's face looked like. Like she was passing a stone maybe? Rolleyes

Aaaargh!! It's quite obvious that she's simply a George W Bush with less of a speech impediment and dressed up in women's clothing. Like him, she is a religious fundamentalist nincompoop idealogue who is not aware of her nincompoopness.

I just went to the CBS site and watched the video. (See the sacrifices I make in the name of research?!) It's interesting that the transcript of the interview is not exact. Not only that, but the video ended before the final exchange that I heard on TV and which appears at the end of the transcript. If anyone didn't see the interview on the news, you might want to watch the portion that's available on CBS.com. Part of the key here is watching her as she's talking, in addition to the words spoken. With the help of speechwriters, she can do a good job making a speech that's been carefully scripted/crafted. She is not articulate when participating in an interview like the one Couric conducted. It's like Palin has been fed X amount of stuff that's she's supposed to parrot. If the question doesn't match the answer she has available, there's quite a bit of floundering for an answer - and the answer doesn't always match the question.

You're right, she didn't say "I'll bring them to you', she said "I'll bring them to ya." That, combined with dropping her "g"s and saying "heckuva" way too much certainly doesn't counter the growing realization that she's not the sharpest ice pick in the drawer.

I've tried really hard, too.

To figure out why people keep eating their own vomit over this topic.

:banghead:

18,500,000 google results for her name.

wow what a waste of perfectly good server space.

I think it is because people are genuinely concerned that Palin could be a heartbeat away from becoming POTUS. The more she talks, the more concerned people become. Every time she opens her mouth she reveals how unknowledgeable she is.

She also is becoming a joke. I've seen so many of those "babe" photos, heard the Russia jokes, etc.

I think McCain has done a disservice to this country choosing Palin as a running mate. It is very disconcerting to me. Choosing Palin was not putting "Country First."

All the bad-mouthing by the opposition is only going to make her supporters dig their heels in and defend her more.

And it makes THIER candidate look so terribly unattractive.

I've never ever seen where bashing ever won over the supposed 18% of non-committed voters.
It's only a salve for the insecure and afraid.
Sad and pathetic.

Right now I wish there was a write in that stood a chance.

There is no other option.

When you step into that voting booth you have to decide, do you trust McCains judgment and do you want to put Governor Palin within a heartbeat of becoming President?

you've hit the nail on the head. I have been saying this for weeks, also. If the Dems want to make an ad, it should look something like this: Obama and Biden standing next to one another, talking about their hopes, desires and plans for the next four years. At the end, Obama says "I put my country first by choosing Joe Biden as vice president; because he can be ready to lead if the occasion arises." or something like that...
