But how does he REALLY feel?

I watched both Couric clips and it seemed Katie had a hard time keeping a straight face while listening to Palin. She actually seemed to wince in pain a few times after hearing some of those responses.

Gad, a news anchor that seems more electable than the candidate! Maybe Chas_M had the right idea about getting the heck out of America the beautiful. We sure aren't getting our moneys worth with any of the clowns in Washington.

Maybe we need a money back guarantee or some kind of warranty.

I agree that Katie would be more qualified to run as VP - we were just saying that very thing over lunch today. She at least has real knowledge of what's going on in the world around her, and is much more well spoken and coherent over all.

swampy, I agree with GtDs -- this is the way I look at it: I would have rather McCain picked Romney as his running mate. Now, those of you here know how very badly I DETEST Romney -- I basically think he's an utter scumbag -- so that should tell you something about what I think about Palin's becoming the VP. Romney, though I think he's a scumbag, is at least an intelligent, experienced scumbag, who WOULD be qualified to be VP and possibly eventually President.

What PeterB said, except I don't think Romney's a scumbag. (I haven't educated myself on him enough to know how much of a scumbag he is or isn't.) From what I've seen, I think he's just a freakshow. But Palin is much, much more of a freakshow than Romney.

SteveO, my comment about him being a scumbag... because he's basically a very intelligent and charming used car salesman. He lies. He twists things around. All the while, convincing you in a very slick way that what he's saying is totally truthful, and he himself is a champion of honesty and forthrightfulness. It's all a sham, and he's shilling you. He'll screw you over bad. So, I was REALLY afraid of McCain picking him, because then he'd become President. As much as I despite him though, I'm more afraid of a President Palin (clueless) than I am of a President Romney (deceptive).

PeterB, stop insulting the used car salesmen by comparing Romney with them. Romney is on a plane all his own. Worst, is I think he sometimes even believes his own line of bull.

You know, I've tried all sorts of moisturizers. I even went fragrance free for a whole year. Now my sister, she uses some kind of uh... uh... uh... uh... aloe vera with a little sunscreen in it, and ideally, we should all wear gloves when going to bed, but I found out that that creates a kind of an interference with my... social agenda, you know what I mean.

If there was ever a doubt TV talking heads aren't real journalists, Couric ended that with her unwillingness to follow up questions. That wasn't, in any real sense, an interview as much as it was a campaign stop and stump speech.

Based on that interview Couric should be doing weathergirl stints somewhere in the Dakotas.
