YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope that message is spread far and wide. I admire Colin Powell greatly and have for a long time.
(I'm so glad you were wrong, Gutie!)

Exactly what set of voters that Obama doesn't already have does a Powell endorsement bring? I was more impressed to see the Salt Lake Tribune come out for Obama now if the Manchester Union-Leader were ever to follow suit my head might assplode.
edit: 'cause I seldom get it right the first time.

Way too little. Way too late.
And he's such a lame@ss that he won't bother to campaign for the man he just said he supports. He has learned nothing from his earlier humiliations.
Larry Flynt has more character. At least when Larry endorsed Dennis Kucinich, he hit the fundraising trail for his candidate.

Also, the military -- for example, in Virginia, which is a key swing state. Props to Powell for doing what's best and right for this country (independent of party affiliation), a lesson that McCain should have learned from his choice of Palin as running mate. My guess is that a number of other sensible Republicans will come out and endorse Obama, if only because of McCain's questionable judgment.

He doesn't need to campaign, Mac. He's going to be on Obama commercials in all 50 states for the next two weeks.

How long do you think it will be before the McCain/Palin campaign and their supporters attack Powell.

They should ignore him. They can't win anything by going after him but then the way they've run their campaign so far they probably will. I don't think they have enough money left to do much more than defend in places like Fla, Va, NC, Mo now even West Virginia.
The Obama strategy of taking the campaign into the heart of GOP territory and making them fight for what they use to own outright might be the difference in this one.
