The "South" didn't cotton much to non-christians.
Our family had already conquered the SouthWest and were well established landowners way before the Brits showed up.
The Civil War didn't effect us.

Nobody in my family lived down south until this generation, so I guess we'd be living pretty much the same life but without fruits and vegetables in the winter. Although maybe there would be trade by now.
