Got the cheaper one- thanks.
Now to Macsales for the memory 4GB
Then sell the old mini on ebay or somewhere.
Then I will be set for another couple of years.

It is a toss up between Apple and Amazon.
Amazon's are new for $577 no tax. Apple is refurbed at $499 plus $49 CA sales tax. At the moment I prefer Apple because I know Snow Leopard will be installed and they will register it for me. If I have to take it to the Apple Store there will be no problems.

Refurbished Mac mini 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
320GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) <---sorry, it sucks
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 256MB memory

$699.00
-$149.00 {SL Box Set, right? )

$550.00 net

or...
build-a-fake* Mac with:
?Q8200 2.33GHZ Core Quad
?4GB DDR2 800 Memory {now about $60}
?1333MHz Gigabyte Px5 mobo
?nVidia 9400GT PCIe 2.0 x16 Graphics 512MB
?1TB Samsung F1 7200 SATA Drive w/ 32MB cache
?24X Lightscribe DVD SATA Burner
?Mid-Tower case w/ 450W PSU
?FW800 Card {$20 or less on fleabay}
?BT USB Dongle {$5 or less on fleabay}

and $50-150 left over, depending on your shopping ability & spare components already 'on hand'.
{not to mention it will blow the doors off any Mini offered}
However, it will require about two hours of your time for the build & install, and the ability to read simple instructions.
*The configuration listed will run a 100% unaltered 10.6.x install as explained on various websites. And yes, I own several Macs, including a C2D Mini.

btw, thxs to the OP for the heads up :priate:

What's a 17" G5 iMac or Core Duo Mini worth now?
Moore's Law applies to all computers regardless of brand or model. But you knew that already, didn't you (Tongue)
