Rick Warren to give the invocation at Obama's inauguration
#31
Has it occurred to anyone that this mildly controversial decision was announced just before the Obama was supposed to reveal what his internal probe found about communication with Blago?
Funny how everyone forgot about that other thing.
Shades of the Bushies . . .

Because that other thing isn't the slam dunk everyone thought it would be. It's going to go on and on and on. Mainly because Blagojovich is supposedly innocent until "proven" guilty by a court of law. That's going to take some time and he'll probably walk. As slimy as he is, he gets that. He's not even been indicted. Patrick Fitzgerald acted too quickly (and he's 'Da Man'). Maybe he's got more than he's letting on.

The only thing Obama could reveal (while wasting everyone's time with some internal probe), is that Rahm and maybe some others talked to the Gov. Which is nothing. Even if Obama talked to him, still nothing.

OK, fine, but he very specifically said he was holding off until yesterday at the request of the DOJ.
Where did that go?

I feel like I need to wait and see how the total Inauguration Day progresses before judging Obama. I have no idea what other people are participating or in what manner. It may be that a panoply of viewpoints and politics will be displayed that day.

Does anyone think that Warren is all that much worse than Billy or Franklin Graham? I suppose the Grahams are more circumspect, but they aren't exactly pro-gay rights. I can see both sides of this issue, I am afraid, so that is why I think I will reserve judgment.

He should just selected an "Evangelical" outside of the state of California where prop 8 feelings are still raw and unresolved. Perhaps Joel Osteen. At least he's not beating the "Adam and Steve" bush.

Warren and BHO also disagree on pro life/abortion. Where are the Abortion Rights people protesting? All we are hearing about are the gay righters.
