Is there a good DTV converter box to pick up at Best Buy, Radio Shack or Target?

I'm going to the big city Tuesday and would rather pick one up instead of ordering it. I have marginal signals from 120 miles northeast and 120 from the south. I have a UHF channel I like, so would I need analog pass-through for that?

. . .just an FYI but Radioshack mailed out $10 off $40 coupon which you might be able to combine with the cards. . .

. . .the Zenith get good reviews @ radioshack. . .

Cable doesn't come out here and satellite is too expensive.

120 miles is very marginal. You'll need a very good antenna and a mast-mounted low noise amplifier to get that signal with any reliability.

I guess, but won't it be switching to digital in February?

I wouldn't worry about the analogue channels, they don't have to wait until February to drop analogue. 2 stations here have already gone digital only as of two weeks ago.

Yes, the Zenith model at Radio Shack. It has gotten excellent reviews. I had purchased an Apex from TigerDirect.com and it pulled in only 15 stations. Then I bought the Zenith for my father-in-law and it pulls in 26 stations at my house. Just a quality unit compared to the Apex.

For some reason, I thought UHF wasn't changing, but I guess they will. In fact, there's a preacher on one of the UHF stations that says if he doesn't get 3 million bucks or something like that.

I have the Digital Stream from Radio Shack-- no problems.
No analog pass-through, but I don't think the Zenith has it either.
At 120 miles you probably do want pass-through to have more options.

Just pointing out that the Zenith linked above does indeed have the analog pass-through.
