free font for the greenies (and wannabes)

If you're printing things for yourself and aren't particularly fussy, here's a font that supposedly uses less ink.

I think "econofont" would be a more accurate, appropriate name for the product. Its benefit to the environment is arguable, but it is measurably more economical. I'd be curious to see it on the printed page.

looks annoying. wonder if its usable at smaller sizes.

I downloaded it and printed out a page at 12pt. Looks fine and very readable. According to the FAQ The Ecofont works best when using font size 9 or 10., but I needed it bigger for my eyes.

We start using fonts that require less ink and the printer manufacturers will downsize the ink tanks even further to equalize the "screw" factor. I'll stick with my SUV fonts and leave the fuel efficient versions to the serif huggers thank you.
