Hey Chicagoans - How Far to the Apple Store?
#1
my son and i are holed up at the Fairmont hotel. he wants to know how far we are from the Apple store? dang - it's clear but freakin' cold today though i am grateful i wasn't here LAST week!

yes, i could google but asking here is so much more fun. i will now search for the nearest Starbuck's since the Fairmont charges for the in-room expresso machine. at least, i think that's what that contraption is. oh, for a simple, little Mr. Coffee...

(nope, not at the Fairmont on my dime.)

Not far! Bundle up, walk down to Michigan Ave. turn right, cross the river and head North a few blocks. The AS is on Michigan and Huron.

You should pass several Starbucks on the way, or hit the Corner Bakery on Wacker and Michigan Ave (although your partner card probably won't work there Wink.)

Have fun!

What dmann said. Straight shot north, plenty of Starbucks. A few years back I would have told you to take the chill off with a bag of hot Garrett Popcorn along the way, but alas their Michigan Avenue store is no longer.

It's a pretty walk, lots of cool things to see. The view from the bridge over the river is especially nice.

Siteseeing on a windy bridge over a cold river at 17 degrees sounds like fun.

billb, it is 16 degrees, slightly windy, but as graylocks said, perfectly clear here today. If it weren't so freaking cold, it really would be a beautiful day!

Walk due east two blocks and take some pics of the babes in bikinis on the yachts in the marina. :-)

Too bad the local polar bear club doesn't have its swim meet until Feb. 7, you could go jump in the lake, too. :-)
