I know this is a computer forum but I have a question on TV
#1
My Toshiba TV plays just fine (LCD) except on channel 240 I get a black box in the middle of the screen and streaming machine language in the black box. Switch to another channel and it is fine.

Also, on some DVD the black box with machine language comes on for about 10 secs and goes away.

Is this something kaflewy with the TV innards or my Satellite.

I know this isn't a TV forum but you guys are so knowledgable on so many subjects (anyway you have fooled me into thinking geniuses inhabit here)

Are you sure you're supposed to get channel 240?

So much depends on your exact equipment configuration. Could be the TV, or DVD, or cable box. Try calling Toshiba and see if they have any idea what's happening here, then work backwards down the chain.

sounds like you turned on the "TeleText".

Go to the Close Caption settings and turn the damn thing OFF. You may see CC1, CC2, etc, T1 or Text 1, T2, etc. Just turn it OFF

My MIL has a one of the audio options switched on recently and didn't have any sound at all on
that one channel. She was going to have TWC come out and look at it, 2 presses of a button fixed it.
