Why do a good many dog owners walk dogs in neighborhoods and allow them to potty on other people's mailboxes, driveways,
#1
So today I am having a good time, cleaning off front stoops, sidewalks and stair rails...When the minute I finished this woman is bringing her 2 dogs up on my property to poop where I had just cleaned.

I said, "Hey, not at the entrance staircase and rails that we use everyday, I just cleaned this area off." She became livid and told me "Where are dogs supposed to go?" I said, "How about on your property before their walk??"Then she produced a baggie out of her back pocket and said "I am picking it up" but it is my right to let the dog poop wherever". I told her thank you for picking up the poop but now every animal will mark my front steps and rails (and we get a lot of animals walking). She screamed at me, "You have a problem and are an animal hater and must not have a Life". By now I am furious...I pay taxes and it is my property and I don't want animal waste at my entrance. Then this crazy woman starts telling me that my water running into the street is polluting (it is from a rain barrel and was enough to clean off previous dog waste and mud). She then brought the dogs up into the grass and told them to pee. I told her that was fine, but that I was going to call the police, if she just could not get off my property.

This has started to become a real problem on my street and in the summer with a drought it really starts stinking. Who the hell wants to smell this crap all over? Only about 60% of owners pick up and only if someone is looking. Many of the homes on the block have signs in the yards about no poop, some are cutesy and others are to the point. We park our cars along the sidewalk and when you get out you step in dog poop at night or have to smell it.

The nonstop barking is out of control also. The owners leave the animals home alone all day.

How do you get your rights, and peace and quiet back? My neighbors across the street are in a war over barking and someone put poison in their back yard, which is just horrible. But their dogs keep the entire block from any peace and quiet and now they are subjecting their animals to abuse (and possible death) because they are irresponsible and won't train their animals.

Responsible owners clean up after their dogs.

Responsible owners are doing what they are supposed to do. The others just don't get it or just don't care.

It is back to the classic rant of today, that a lot of people are self centered and only about their own rights.

What do folks in New York and other cities do? Are the sidewalks a mess?

I see a lot of dog poop in my neighborhood. Young guys with pitbulls are frequent offenders. I always pick up after the dogs I walk. Sometimes I wind up picking up what other people have failed to clean up. It's ridiculous.

People who leave their dogs alone all day need to hire a dog walker. Leaving a dog confined all day with no stimulation and no company is a bad idea. And the poor dogs who get frustrated enough to bark end up suffering for their owners' inability to care for them properly.

Find out where they live and smear the poop on their walkways.

I am seriously thinking of filing a report against her. She said she used to know my neighbor. Our area is clean and has nice sidewalks and makes a nice long, safe walking area.

We used to have just a few pets walking and most owners were cool. Now we have about 100 a day and many don't pick up. There are 14 dogs directly across the street in 2 condo buildings. About ten are barkers. The 2 homes next door each have about 4 dogs and their backyards face each other and these dogs bark nonstop (these owners do not pick up dog poop and 4 of the dogs are not usually leashed when out. These dogs get the condo dogs riled up and barking. One group dogs barks all day and night.

What I really resent is being vilified. Now the kooky lady told my neighbor across the street her version of this story, and he just screamed at me, calling me an animal hater, etc. He is a dog owner that only recently started picking up some after his dog.....

The condos across the street are becoming more rental and with that, more animal and people issues.

even worse, I saw dog poop on a children's playground the other day; I could see how a curious toddler would pick it up if Mommy or Daddy didn't pay attention for a minute.

We are the only dog owners who has gotten it right 99.9% of the time: As he squats for his business we spread a newspaper beneath his end. When he's done, we wrap up the mess and put it into a plastic bag. We don't get the mess in our hands (plastic bags are porous) and the sidewalk stays unsmeared. Everyone is happy. Strangers comment us for being inventive and considerate. Of course, the job ain't that hard because we have only one dog and he's only 13lbs. Now a Great Dane, well, ...

The elementary school just posted in the newletter that the ball fields (where dog owners were letting their big dogs off leash and not picking up the waste) were now off limits because it was unsanitary for the children to play here. The school went on to say that they tried to be lenient, but owners were irresponsible and now the fields would be locked and on camera.

People just don't get it.

We are the only dog owners who has gotten it right 100% of the time, the SuperPups only defecate at their own house.
