Did you go to your prom?
#21
I was out of town for my junior prom, but went to my senior prom with my girlfriend from high school. We had it at the Marriott Marquis downtown. Several friends had rented rooms for the evening, so everyone was in and out of the ballroom. My best friend went to the next high school over and his prom was the same night. We all met up afterwards.

I also went to her junior and senior proms. She went to one of the fancy private schools in Atlanta and their prom was on campus. The school had a casino-themed after party nearby and then we shared a hotel suite with a bunch of others for an after-after-party. Good times.

I went to my senior prom with a girl I was infatuated with. She was a free spirit (but alas not with me) and would have qualified as a "hippie chick" except this was pre-hippies.

I know, I'm older than dirt.

Edit typing error:"pron" for "prom"
I spend too much time on this forum.

I went to 3, 2 while still in HS and one the year after I graduated. The
second one I invited a girl on a dare and she said yes, she had already
turned down like 4 guys. She was hot and I was pretty nerdy still
haven't quite figured out why she said yes.

No, I dropped out of HS & was finishing up basic training at Lackland Air Force Base when prom came along.

Years later I was asked to be a chaperon at AL Performing Arts HS prom & was looking forward to it but a real hot guy asked my 'date' to go white water rafting so that was that. The bitch. The fact that he was real hot was supposed to make it all okay.

I went to both my Jr. & Sr. Proms. I don't regret it, but I also don't remember it as being very memorable. I am still friends with my date for the Sr. Prom, but I haven't seen the guy I went with as a Jr. for decades.

My daughter's Sr. Prom is tomorrow night. Limo, dinner and then the actual Prom at Underground Atlanta. Ours was not nearly as lavish and was held at the local National Guard Armory, which was a large nondescript metal building, go figure. Big Grin

To this day I don't even know if my high school had a prom. I assume they did, but I didn't care then, and don't care now.

STF a bit down, more Prom stories

And yes, I went to three or four of them. (The first three were a bit of a blur). Dad owned a tux, and it fit me. I was my older sister's friends 'emergency prom date'. I could dance, wasn't plug ugly (but geeky, glasses wearing, and thin as a rail), and was polite.

No. Well actually I went to the after-prom. During the prom I was at a concert (HFStival). I didn't have girlfriend when I bought the tickets so I was definitely going to the show, but by then I did have a girlfriend so I went to the after-prom with her.

Do I regret any of that? No, not really. We're married now so I guess it was okay with her too.
