Would you put an SSD in your MBP or it'd be a waste of $$$ ...

I'd use an SSD for the amazingly increased speed. The better battery life and decreased heat are just side benefits.

If you've got the cash to throw at you MBP; go for it. Some MBP models are shipping with SSDs right now.

The SSD in my Mini 9 can get pretty toasty under situations like an OS installation.
Can't see why a fan wouldn't be great for thermal protection.

Waste of money since there is at least one 500GB, 7200RPM 2.5" SATA drive out there @$150.
