Hmm. Shipping was only $3 for the TOSLINK cable.

How many cables did you put into that order? For one, the shipping is something like $2.99. That's not crazy.

It's been said before. I'll say it again. Go with http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp. Good prices for quality cables and reasonable shipping charges (USPS Priority Mail usually).

I also no longer bother to shop around for cables. However, I will often save up what I need for a while and place a big order a couple times/year.

You beat me to the same suggestion. I just received my first order from monoprice for some cables and an HDMI switch box. The quality is top-notch. You'd pay much more $$$ for the same or inferior quality cables from a slew of other stores. So, given the choice, I'd rather pay a little more and give the order to monoprice and know I'm getting a quality product.
