I'm trying to figure out what I want more. The Yankees lose in the first round, the Yankees lose in the second round, the Yankees get beat in Game 7 of the championship. Any would feel good.

I equate a good number of the Yankees championships to The Dream Team US basketball team that first featured our real "Pros" (the competition just wasn't nearly as good back then for a number of reasons). The Yanks had teams so much better than their handful of competitors back in the day. Then there were teams added and other teams slowly but surely caught up to them.

I'd hate a hard salary cap but if there ever is one... so long bought championships. It really makes what teams like Tampa, the Marlins, D-Bags, etc. even more impressive when they can put together a championship team without spending $200M
