Got an HP desktop up on eBay and I had to cancel 3 bids. First bid was from a guy with 10 feedback. Problem was that 9 of the feedbacks were from buying 1 cent costume jewelry. Next canceled bid was from a 0 feedback guy. Third cancel bid was from a guy with 4 feedback. From 1995. Nah, I don't think I want to sell my computer to any of you.
I've learned the secret is to cancel such bids quick so the item's final price can recover.

How much feedback do you have?

Just looked at the feedback ratings for the buyers of the last ten things I sold over the previous two weeks. No problems with any of them even though two buyers had zero feedback and one had no feedback since 2003. Value of items up to £190. I agree you have to be wary but after several 1000s of transactions, buying and selling over many many years, I have yet to encounter a problem that wasn't sorted easily. I wonder what my secret is.

Well no answer. I hope you don't plan on selling much stuff on eBay because you're learned "secret"
isn't going to get you far.

Extreme over reaction - most low feedback bidders just don't use ebay much or are new - doesn't mean they will be bad trading partners. Some 'zeros' are the best buyers of all. Some with 100+ absolutely suck.
accept all bids (except from those that are bidding on your laptop and a dozen similar ones - THOSE are the suckiest of all) and hope for the best.

I was a low feedback bidder once. I've paid promptly for everything I've purchased, and now have a 100% feedback rating.

Hey Frankie, relax. You posted at 6:49 AM, 7:19 AM, and 11:18 AM. I posted at 4:24 AM. Let me sleep a bit, eh? My feedback is 100% and a 430+. I'm sure there are many people who buy penny costume jewelry then a computer and there are many who buy a few items five years ago and then a computer. And it may be a bit of an over-reaction. But I would rather deal with buyers with better feedback.
Oh, and my learned "secret" has gotten me far enough on eBay. Someone canceled one of your bids? You seem to have taken this post rather personally.

I buy on E-bay very rarely - prefer to pay more and buy from a reputable dealer. But in some cases i have to, so I have maybe 10 feedbacks over the past 10 years - all positive, of course.
